BOARD
Catawba Regional Council of Governments is governed by a Board comprised of 32 representatives from the four counties. Representation for each county is established using a formula based on population. The county representatives are appointed by the respective County Councils. By law, the majority of the Board members must be local government officials. In 1998, a new state law added representation to the COG Board by a representative from the state legislative delegation from each county. The Board has a Chairman and Vice-Chairman, who are elected annually. Currently serving as Chairman is Dora T. Martin from Union County Council. The Board meets quarterly. Furthermore, an Executive Committee is also elected by the Board to deal with business decisions between Board meetings.

Affiliated boards are the Catawba Regional Development Corporation Board and the Catawba Regional Workforce Investment Board. The Board also has a number of Advisory Committees, which provide information and recommendations in areas such as Community Development Block Grants, transportation, the brownfield program, and others.
