CENSUS DATA

Census Data from the U. S. Bureau of the Census is an important tool for local governments, businesses, and planners.  Catawba Regional is an Affiliate Data Center for the Census Bureau, and receives detailed census data.  Many items from the Census are useful in developing grant applications or in documenting the changes occurring in local communities.   When new data are released by the Census Bureau, such as the 2006 data shown below, Catawba Regional sends news releases to its member governments to keep them informed of the changes taking place in their communities.  Census data can be accessed directly at  www.census.gov  .  The South Carolina Budget and Control Board's Office of Research and Statistical Services provides a service by taking the census data and providing county and municipal summaries of the information.  This can be accessed through www.orss.state.sc.us .  Regional census and demographic data is also available in the Data and Documents section of this site.
